Rupert Johnstone

I have been making pots since I was fifteen. At the moment I am making functional Earthenware with my wife Alice, as part of RAMP (Roop & Al Make Pots). We exhibit and sell out pots around the country in galleries and at shows.

I also teach as part of my work, now mainly on projects, but have taught at schools and colleges as a resident artist and on a part time basis.

I am a potter, and am fascinated by the malleability and versatility of clay and the process of making it into ceramic in the fire. The discipline of this harsh transformation that structures the endless possibilities of the plastic clay are continually exciting and challenging. So I am always keen to explore new possibilities. This is what I hope we will do.
