Rupert Johnstone

Rupert Johnstone studied Ceramics at Edinburgh College of Art and has worked as an artist, maker and teacher for the last 12 years. In 2001 he set up RAMP(Roop & Al Make Pots) with his wife Alice and their work is exhibited around the country. Roop has also worked with students from the ages of 5 to 85 on projects for Arts Festivals, in schools and Art Colleges.

Currently he works part-time at Exeter College and assists Sandy Brown, an internationally renowned ceramic artist, on certain projects. Roop is endlessly fascinated by the malleability and versatility of clay, the transformative processes of firing and the meanings it has for us as a material.
