TUTOR: Patrick Jones

"Drawing into Painting", after an exhibition Patrick saw of Jackson Pollocks drawings at M.O.M.A. Oxford which seemed to reach an essence of what drawing is for him. Students will be working on the floor, on large paper using a variety of media.

Patrick is an abstract painter ,whose last big exhibition was in Dublin last year. His next show is with Kandinsky during Abstract Art Month at the Brook Gallery in Budleigh Salterton, where he will be showing paintings and etchings.

He has exhibited at the Hayward, Serpentine and I.C.A galleries, represented the U.K. at the Carnegie International in the U.S. He has taught extensively in England and America, noteably at Wimbledon and Hunter College in New York. In 2006 he held a 30yr survey show at the Poussin Gallery in London, which currently represents him.
