Chris Chapman has been photographing life an Dartmoor since 1975 and has accumulated a vast archive depicting the culture and character of the region.

His photography has been widely recognised and is represented in collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Arts Council, England, the International Centre of Photography, New York and in numerous private collections. His work has been published under various titles, including - Dartmoor: The Threatened Wilderness (Channel 4, 1987), Wild Goose and Riddon. The Dartmoor Photographs of Chris Chapman (Halsgrove 2000) and Silence at Ramscliffe: Foot and Mouth in Devon (The Bardwell Press 2005).

In 2009 he completed a beautiful new film about the Dartmoor 'Wild River, Cold Stone'.
