Andy Griffiths

Andy Griffiths is Head of Fine Art Sculpture, West Wales School of the Arts, Carmarthen. He has a BA(hons) from the Central School of Art and Design (1983-1987).

His experience includes: Foundryman and self-employed artist, A&A Fine Art Foundry, Limehouse, London, 1988-1993; US/UK Iron Casting Residency, Berlanderri Sculpture Workshops, USK. 2003; Built Y-Ddrai Goch (The Red Dragon) an iron Cupolette, winter 2005; Symposium, Welsh and American artists sand moulding residency. Griffith has exhibited in London: Alexander Palace, Royal Festival Hall, and the East End Open Studios.

In 1992 he had the opportunity to work in Seville, making sculpture for Expo 92, it was on returning to London six months later he decided to move back to Wales. During 2006 he poured at the Ironbridge International Cast Iron Art Conference. Andy also ran the first iron casting summer school at the West Wales School of The Arts. In 2010 he co‐chaired the 6th International Conference which was held in Kidwelly West Wales. He regularly runs cast iron pours in the UK, including at The Royal College of Art, London and has been a visiting artist across the UK and USA.
