Dartmoor Arts

Introduction

Sunday 25th July - Friday 30th July

Dartmoor Arts offers an exceptional programme of courses and events that create for anyone - from filmmaker to sculptor, beginner to lifelong practitioner - a space within which to explore the range and depth of their abilities and realise the possibilities of their work.

Now in its fourth year, students benefit from having the time to focus on their own immediate interests, or from trying disciplines completely new to them. Sharing their experiences with fellow makers with a wide variety of skills and insights, across a broad range of specialities, provides an exciting, knowledgeable and supportive environment within which to work.

Dartmoor Arts seeks to provide:

  • Outstanding tuition from tutors who are currently active in their particular field to ensure students develop new skills and are able to discuss the practical aspects of a particular profession
  • Renowned speakers who offer ideas, inspiration and debate throughout the week and balance the practical element by enabling students to explore the link between making and theory
  • A diverse student and tutor base who are committed to participating in the week to the mutual benefit of fellow students and tutors

The intensive week-long programme consists of practical daytime workshops, evening lectures and music and performance events, all based in and around the village of Drewsteignton on Dartmoor. Costs include all materials, evening meals and events. Dartmoor Arts is committed to providing bursaries to those who need them and encourages interested parties to apply.

Please Book to secure a place on the course of your choice and use the details on the contact page to ask any questions you may have on courses, accommodation, low-cost camping or special dietary requirements.
