BOOKING
Applications:
Your place on the course is confirmed and reserved once payment has been received. This is on a first come first served basis. Students are advised to reserve their chosen course as soon as possible as places are strictly limited.
Please send the completed application form, with payment, to The Dartmoor Arts Project, Summer School Application.
Please note that applications cannot be accepted by e-mail.
Payment of fees must be made in £ sterling by one of the following methods:
- Cheque (payable to “The Dartmoor Arts Project” and crossed
- Cash (in person only)

Please complete the form indicating your choice of course by ticking the appropriate course box. Please note each course is full-time.
Materials Costs:
Materials are included in the cost of the courses except for Landscape Painting where you are required to supply your own preferred paints and brushes.
Working Day:
The working day runs from 9.30am to 4.00pm, followed by an evening meal at 6.30 pm and an artists’ talk/film/music or comedy event at 8.00pm.
Artists Talks and Music/Comedy Events:
The artists’ talks, music and comedy events each evening throughout the summer school are open to participants of any of the summer school courses, free of charge.
Refreshments:
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided at each venue during the day.
Lunch:
Post Office/Drewe Arms, Drewsteignton
Dinner:
An evening meal will be provided for all participants in The Long Room of The Drewe Arms at no extra cost.
Unless we have been notified explicitly of any dietary or other requirements, and have agreed to them, we cannot guarantee that they will be met (see application form).
Accommodation:
An Accommodation List can be found on this web site under Practicalities.
Please note: The Dartmoor Arts Project cannot take responsibility for the quality of any accommodation listed. The Dartmoor Arts Project regrets that it is unable to book accommodation on behalf of students. All accommodation costs must be met by the student.
Health Care:
Overseas students are advised to take out private health insurance. Transport routes to Drewsteignton can be found under Practicalities. All teaching venues are within a few minutes of the centre of Drewsteignton. It would be advisable though not essential to have access to a car. The Landcape Painting course is provided with a mini bus for exploring Dartmoor.
English Language:
All students whose first language is not English should have a reasonable proficiency in the English language in order to fully benefit from the courses.
Disabled Access:
The Dartmoor Arts Project welcomes applications from disabled students. It is essential that students with any special needs discuss their requirements before making a formal application.
Safety:
Summer School students are required to sign a Safety Compliance Form as part of The Dartmoor Arts Project’s Health and Safety regulations.
Storage:
Please take care of your belongings. We regret that we cannot be held responsible for the loss of students' belongings.
Cancellations and Refunds:
Cancellations, withdrawals and requests to transfer from a course for any reason must be received in writing at least one month before the course start date.
Cancellations and transfers less than one month before the start of a course are not permitted under any circumstances unless a substitute student is found. Cancellations, transfers and substitutions are all subject to a £50 administrative charge.
We strongly recommend that all students take out personal insurance against any unforeseeable circumstances. In the unlikely event of a course being canceled notification will be given with not less than 4 weeks notice.
Any travel or other arrangements made are at your own risk. If any cancellation takes place less than 4 weeks before the course commencement then you will be refunded for transport arrangements providing you can provide proof of purchase.
